It goes without saying that our lips have high standards to live up to but are sorely under- appreciated. We’re finally coming out of the spiral of lockdowns here in Sydney and I for one, am ready to reach my lip goals. Though it seems insignificant, I truly believe it’s the little things that can bring out a new confidence in you. I’m the first to admit that it’s hard to keep up with every new thing that comes your way, however, I’ve decided to take on all the messy learning curves for the greater good of anyone else who wants to achieve the same goals as me.

Lips Truths to Live By
So, for every other lip junkie out there, here are some lip truths to live by! The first thing I couldn’t help but wonder was how everyone seemed to have these fuller-looking, smooth lips. I wanted to know what it would take to achieve that (without using plumping products or lip injections) so we’re disqualifying these as an option, much like this beauty contest. Let’s acknowledge the fact that things are not always as they seem, and filters are a saviour for many who are in search of plumper lips (guilty, as charged!), but I thought I’d give it a shot anyway.

Keeping your lips moisturised will cure a lot of your lip concerns! I’m no specialist, but I’ve learned that our lips are missing the same oil glands as the rest of our body, which explains why mine always feel so dry. Having dry lips will inevitably result in the dreaded lip wrinkles, and no one wants that! Using a lip balm regularly will help soften the look of wrinkles and will actually also make your lips a little plumper!
